About Kathryn Forest
A graduate of Bowdoin College with degrees in French and art history, Kathryn
has studied at the Ecole du Louvre, La Sorbonne in Paris and the New York
School of Interior Design. Her career began in New York City
working for a fashion and entertainment public relations firm; but soon her
love and knowledge of antiques and furniture led her to a position as a decorative
home buyer at Bergdorf Goodman.
Fluent in French, Kathryn eventually
transferred to the store’s Paris buying office where she served as
a fashion and home consultant previewing collections in the Paris markets. Kathryn’s
exposure to different facets of the interior world guided her to explore
the design side of the business.
After working under noted architect
and interior designer, Daniel Romualdez, Kathryn began her own interior
design business working on both residential and commercial projects in New
York City, the Hamptons, Nantucket, Boston and Florida. She has had the
opportunity to work with prominent New York developer and venture capitalist
Christopher Burch, working on his show houses in Nantucket and Long Island. Kathryn
has also collaborated with New York fashion designer Tory Burch on her family’s
Manhattan apartment and home in Southampton, NY.
Current projects for
Kathryn Forest Design include residences in California, New York City,
the Hamptons, Connecticut, Maine and Florida.
